AOSR President’s Message

I am deeply honored to serve as President of AOSR. One of my priorities is to further advance AsiaSafe, the AOSR initiative founded by Emeritus Professor Dr. Kwan Hoong Ng to strengthen radiation safety across the Asia-Oceania region. AsiaSafe promotes a strong culture of safety and appropriate use of radiation in medicine, while expanding its focus to MRI and contrast safety through education, guidance, quality assurance, collaboration, public awareness, and national safety initiatives. Through continued collaboration with international partners, including the IAEA, ISR, and ICRP, we strive to adapt and localize safety principles to the diverse needs of institutions across our region, ensuring patient-centered, optimized, and high-quality care. Together, let us place patients at the center of everything we do and continue to make AsiaSafe a trusted beacon of excellence in safety and quality care throughout Asia and Oceania.

AsiaSafe Chair Message

AsiaSafe focus on enhancing awareness with safety standards, policies, procedures and activities that support the Bonn Call for Action, published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the ISRQSA’s 2022 Call for Action. AsiaSafe is cooperating with the IAEA, WHO, European Society of Radiology, EuroSafe Imaging, ISR, Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and other regional organizations. We look forward to collaborating with all Asia Oceania countries to enhance radiological safety and other aspects of safety such as MR safety.
